Worst Beer Ever!

I've had a lot of beer in my life, but which is the worst?

Is it the Sam Adams Triple Bock, which Eli described in two words: soy sauce?

Is it the Trader Joe's Hefeweizen, which promises flavors of "banana, bubble gum, and clove", and more than lives up to the threat?

Is it the Arbor Brewing Company's Smoked Lager, which tasted like bacon? I can tell you all right now, that beer and bacon are not two great tastes that go together.

Or is it some other beer that I've been fortunate enough to avoid so far?

My vote is still for Amstel Light as worst beer ever - light, regular, dark, lager, whatever. Talk about skunky!

At the bar the other day somebody's brother ordered an Amstel light. When he was in the bathroom, I mentioned to Charlene (the waitress) that I thought it was one of the worst beers of all time.

She agreed wholeheartedly, and also can't figure out why it's so popular.

I would still drink Amstel Light before drinking the Trader Joe's Hefeweizen again. There's a reason why after a summer of cookouts we were left with four bottles of it (and nothing else!) in the cooler.

Whatever that Cherry Wheat beer was that I had in Ypsi this past weekend would beat all. You know that awful fake cherry taste in most kids' medicine? Imagine that.

If you're going to add cough syrup to an alcoholic drink, it should be grape flavored.

Oh, that sounds gross -- if I want alcohol that tastes like cough syrup, I'll drink Jäger.

Flavored beers might need their own category.
